Used Tokina AT-X SD 80-200mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon F
The Tokina AT-X SD 80-200mm f/2.8 is a manual focus telephoto zoom lens for Nikon F mount 35mm SLR cameras, built around Tokina's Super-Low Dispersion (SD) glass for chromatic aberration control and a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the entire zoom range. Introduced as part of Tokina's professional AT-X lineup, it was a popular alternative to first-party 80-200mm f/2.8 optics for photographers needing reliable telephoto reach and light-gathering capability for sports, wildlife, and low-light work. A removable tripod collar allows the lens to rotate freely on a tripod head without needing to reposition the camera body, and internal focusing keeps the barrel length constant while focusing.
The optical formula consists of 17 elements in 11 groups incorporating SD glass elements for well-controlled chromatic aberration and contrast across the zoom range. The all-metal construction gives the lens a substantial, professional-grade feel at approximately 1080g, and the 1.5m minimum focus distance is consistent with telephoto zooms of its era. The 77mm front filter thread accepts standard filters directly, and the lens is compatible with Nikon F mount film SLR bodies and manual-aperture-compatible DSLR bodies.
