The OM System M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F1.4 PRO is a wide-normal prime lens for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, delivering a 40mm full-frame equivalent focal length and a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture in a genuinely compact, pocketable design. First announced in September 2021 as one of the earliest lenses under the OM System brand following the split from Olympus, it sits in a deliberate sweet spot for the Micro Four Thirds system: a usefully fast aperture without sacrificing the portability that defines the format. At just 247g and 61.7mm in length, it pairs naturally with compact OM System and Micro Four Thirds bodies for street, travel, and everyday photography.
The optical formula consists of 11 elements in 10 groups, including 1 Super ED element, 3 ED elements, 2 Super HR elements, and 2 aspherical elements to control chromatic aberration and deliver sharp images across the frame even at f/1.4. A rounded 9-blade diaphragm produces smooth, circular bokeh with minimal onion-ring artifacts, and ZERO (Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical) coating combined with a fluorine-coated front element suppresses flare and ghosting while repelling dust, dirt, rain, and snow. Internal focusing keeps the lens length constant during autofocus, and the MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) autofocus system delivers fast, quiet, and precise focus performance suited to both stills and video. The lens carries an IPX1 dust, splash, and freeze-proof rating down to -10°C when paired with a compatible weather-sealed body.
