Used OM System M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 II Lens
The OM System M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 II is a compact wide-angle prime lens for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, delivering a 34mm full-frame equivalent focal length in a genuinely pocketable package at just 112g and 37.6mm in length. This Mark II version carries the same optical formula as the original Olympus-branded lens but adds IPX1-rated splash and dust protection via five internal weather seals, making it a more reliable option for street and travel photography in unpredictable conditions. In exchange for weather sealing, the Mark II drops the manual focus clutch and distance scale found on the original version, and features a new bayonet-style lens hood mount that is not backward compatible with some of the original lens caps.
The optical formula consists of 9 elements in 6 groups, including a DSA (Dual Super Aspheric) element and an HR (High Refractive Index) element to reduce distortion and spherical aberration. A 7-blade circular diaphragm supports pleasing bokeh at the f/1.8 maximum aperture, and ZERO (Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical) coating suppresses ghosting and flare for clear images in challenging lighting. The lens reaches a 0.25m minimum focus distance for close-up versatility, and its compact metal construction pairs naturally with small Micro Four Thirds bodies for everyday carry.
