The Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED is a versatile 7.5x zoom lens built for Nikon DX-format DSLRs, covering an 18-135mm range (27-202.5mm equivalent). It takes photographers from wide-angle landscapes to telephoto portraits and action in a single lens, making it a practical choice for everyday shooting.
The optical design includes one ED glass element and two hybrid aspherical elements to help control chromatic aberration and distortion across the zoom range. Nikon's SWM (Silent Wave Motor) drives fast, quiet autofocus, and an internal focusing design keeps the lens length and front element fixed while focusing, making it well suited to polarizing filters. An M/A switch allows quick manual override even during autofocus operation.
