Used Zeiss Planar 50mm f/1.4 Lens for Canon EF
This is a Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.4, originally built for the Contax/Yashica (C/Y) mount, that has had its rear mount converted to Canon EF by Leitax. The optics and mechanics are unchanged from the original C/Y lens; only the rear mount has been swapped, allowing it to physically attach to Canon EF cameras.
Because this is a rear-mount conversion rather than a factory Canon lens, it has no electronic contacts. It does not communicate EXIF data, does not support electronic aperture control, and the camera will not register a lens is attached, so "shoot without lens" may need to be enabled in-camera. Optically, the lens uses 7 elements in 6 groups with Zeiss's T* anti-reflective coating to control flare and ghosting, and a 6-blade diaphragm. Focus and aperture are set entirely manually, in keeping with its origin as a 1970s-80s manual-focus SLR lens.
