TAMRON 16-50mm f/2.8 A Overview
The Tamron 16-50mm F2.8 is a compact standard zoom lens for Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras with DX-format (APS-C) sensors, covering a 24-75mm equivalent range. It starts at a wide 16mm, which works for landscapes, architecture, and group shots in tight spaces, and reaches 50mm for portraits and everyday snapshots, all with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture.
At 3.3 inches long and 11.2 ounces, it stays small and light enough for everyday carry and travel. Autofocus runs on Tamron’s VXD linear motor, which is quick and quiet for tracking kids and pets and for video, and the lens focuses as close as 6 inches at the wide end for close-up detail shots. Moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating add some protection outdoors, and the strap-hole front cap helps keep the cap secure. It also supports camera key functions.
